Hi,
right after after putting my boat in the water this summer and starting up the outboard engine for the first time I got an alarm, an intermittent beeping (i.e. not a long beep). It is not just a few beeps, but it continues intermittently until I turn the key to off/turn off the engine.
It starts beeping while running, at different speeds/RPM, and it also reduces the RPM automatically while doing so. I can re-start the engine and drive at lower RPMs and it will run, but the beeps keep coming back, seems more easily at higher RPMs.
Before summer I changed oil, and I over-filled a bit, but I have removed the excess. I have also changed oil filter.
The outboard engine is a Mariner 25 Bigfoot, I believe year 2004-2006.
What could be wrong here? I think the engine is getting hot to the touch, but I think overheating alarm would be a long beep?
Any ideas?
