Mariner 25e lower unit

Hi there! I'm new to this.forum so I hope I'm going about this right. I'm trying to find info on the mariner 25e engine that I'm trying to repair. The lower unit on this engine is damaged! The input shaft gear has been totally stripped and the ring gear that it rides on and I suppose other parts need to be replaced! The engine runs great so I would rather not just get rid of it and find another engine. I'mhoping that i.can find help on here or somewhere else! This is the serial number off of the engine (695S253580). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! !

That is an '84 Yamaha built Mariner,an exact copy of Yamaha's own older 25,

Thx for the info! Still would like to get some part numbers for replacement parts or any info on where I could find a lower unit if it would be cost effective or best advise on what would be my best option at this point!

My opinion would be to look for a lower unit or donor motor. Here's the marineengine.com parts list,http://www.marineengine.com/parts/m...haust/695253862-and-up-e/gearhousing-assembly ,ebay or a mariner or Yamaha dealer.Craig's list.On this side of the Atlantic there are a few places,but shipping might be a bit pricey.
