Lower Unit Help

Can someone answer this question? I have a 1977 175 hp Envinrude (Model # 175749) with lower unit issues and needs to be replaced. I found a 1990 225 hp Evinrude (E225TXESG) with a working lower unit and it is free!! Will it work with the 175???

Sorry but no as yours is a hydro mechanical shift.......Find a 1976-77 150-200hp so it will be a direct bolt up. The only way to make the 1990 work would be to change all the linkages out to a later model crossflow and swap the front intake manifold.
