Hi, I have cracked the lower unit on the inside at one of the holes fixing the water pump. If I measure the depth there will not be enough space to re-tap the thread deeper before you go through the bottom of the lower unit's "fin". My question is if I drill that hole right through to the outside (straight down to the underside of lower unit at the bottom), then re-tap it, put in a longer bolt it should pull the crack close. I will probably have a cm of extra thread. Will drilling the hole right down through to the outside(bottom) have any serious consequences. All you will see from the outside is a bolt coming out at the bottom next to the mounting bolts of the lower unit. Hope it makes sense. Cheers
