I recently purchased an 2006 MERCURY 9.9 BIG FOOT trolling motor ( Serial # 0R144249 ) with electric start and tilt. It came off of a boat with a remote controller. I want to convert it to a tiller motor so I purchased a blown up Mercury 2016 pro kicker (Serial # 1F10451EK ) with tiller handle and electric start and tilt. Hoping to transfer the 2016 parts to the 2006. Mechanically the shifting and throttle controls seem to be interchangeable with the transfer of the shifting assemblies. Wiring diagrams seem to be hard to come by. I found 2 service manuals and neither one had wiring diagrams. The 2006 motor has a circular 8 pin connector with 6 actively used pins. I have successfully connected the start switch and the trim switches. I am having trouble connecting the stop and run switches, as well as where to connect the CDI power.
