Looking for help.

I am new to this site. I have a, 88 Force 50 HP outboard, I am having a problem with my trim unit. The motor goes up and down fine, however, if you leave it in the up position without putting the travel bar on, it slowly leaks down. I have tried to find a repack kit for the Hyd. unit, but so far have not been able to locate a picture of the same unit I have, to get a P/N. The Model # is 507y9b with a serial number of 2456. I was told by a marine dealer that it was a 1988, is it or how do I find out what it is. Plus where might I get a repack kit?

First try changing the fluid, could be some crap in check ball/valve. Note the condition of the old oil.......rusty? If you use the motor only when its warm out, you can go to a heavier weight hydraulic oil. Some people use ATF, but I don't like that in warm climates.....okay, however, here in northern Minnesota or NW Ontario where I run.

First thing I would check is the manual release screw and then the fluid level and air in the system
