"I bought a 1966 Coronet 24' cabin last year for a price based on the fact that the starbd engine wouldn't turn. I have that engine out, and it certainly needs at least a re-bore, new pistons/rings, etc, etc. I haven't determined if it was running when water got in-just see a rusty #4 cylinder. I plan to go through the other engine also, altho it does run. Are these engines/outdrives worth rebuilding or am I out of my mind? The engines were installed with FWC about 10 years ago. The boat itself is sound and other than needing some wood trim replaced and refinished, it's pretty nice. My advantage is that I'm willing to take some time and do the work myself ( I was a M-B trained Mercedes mechanic many, many! years ago), but I'd like to get some views from people with more experience with these engines and outdrives than I have.
