Any help is greatly appreciated.
1988, 88hp Johnson. I added a rebuilt trim/tilt assembly, new relay box and wired to switch, starter and ignition. Trim tilt works great. Went for maiden voyage and the rectifier was melting wires and started a small fire.
Did the addition of the trim/tilt assembly change the draw on the electrical system?
Is this as simple as a new rectifier and lead assembly( 0583408) ? Or replacing the rectifier/regulator under the flywheel? (0585195)
