Intermittent failure

I've got a 98' Regal 2100 with a Volvo Penta 4.3 I/O 190 hp. The boat will run fine, starting and stopping several times while tubing, skiing etc. It will sit for awhile and restart. Then after sitting for awhile, it will start, go about 50 feet, choke out and die and won't re-start. It may turn over but won't run, then won't even turn over. The carbuerator has been cleaned a new fuel pump installed, both last week, but it did it again yeaterday. Have had the boat a month and been towed in twice. Not happy.
