ignition problem 4.3liter gm

I have a 1988 chapparall w 4.3l gm engine put new starter plugs and wires.Everything turns over but motor will not fire.Tried to adjust timing did not work..help!!!!

jump the coil from the pos side of the battery to the pos side of the coil. see if it starts

Was it working before the new starter, plugs and wires or were they changed to try and solve a problem? Are you sure you have ALL the plug wires going to the proper plugs and none were crossed?
