ignition failure 1995 Mercury 40 hp 4 cyl two stroke

Engine stopped dead a few seconds after a restart, having run fine all day. Verified all four plugs no spark. Cranks great. Double checked safety cut off switch. swapped spare 20 amp fuse on electrical box. Have not taken cover off electrical box on starboard side of block yet. Any brilliant suggestion on what I might specifically look for? Your ideas may be the key. Thank you, Bill Fink

Guyjg, thanks for the link. Will open box up in the morning and try their procedure. BF
