I'm rebuilding my block but cant figure out what year she is, so if anyone knows where i can look it up at or if some one could tell me if you know the sn# I would greatly appreciate it.

sn# on tag 2578992

other **** on the block don't know if it would help but

WII086BC

on one side in a row is 3915983 - con2 - J268

then under it is

11 - 5983 with a clock with the key at 4 o'clock

1666601 THRU 3377340
120 GM 153 I/L4 1964-1972

well, it shows as a 2.5L Chev 153 cu in made between 1964 and 1972

your number is in the middle, so probably 1968ish... but the 2.5 gasket sets would all be the same for the most part

I like to use the OMC parts books for the Chevy internals because OMC used GM's part numbers. Can google up the Chevy numbers and sometimes find better deals. unlike Mercruiser who renumbered all the parts.

I might look for a 3.0 to rebuild for a 20HP upgrade....costs no more to rebuild a 3.0

Welcome aboard !

Don't get me wrong but a new 3.0l would be alot cheaper then trying to rebuild a 2.5l or a 3.0l. Check out michigan motors. Or a freshwater 3.0l engine used for around a grand might be the ticket for you.

Believe me i looked into the costs when my 2.5l went. I found a 140 / 3.0 and the extra 20 hp made my boat seem like a different one you won't be disappointed.
