I need to have my outboard rebored. Is there any particular reason I should go with .030 over .015? My outboard is currently 75 hp but after thoroughly reading the manual it looks like I may be able to go to 90 hp by putting a different set of carburetors and jets on the motor.

Any thoughts thank you in advance

You might need to go .030 over to clean up the walls.

If you're going to get the motor bored out, be DAMN sure you use someone familiar with boring closed end cylinders correctly. The guy who did mine did not bore it all the way to TDC and caused me a ton of grief.

Will do Jeff. I was wondering how they bored the cylinder without being able to run the reamer all the way through the cylinder.

Always go with the minimum amount to clean up cylinders....Go with the WSM rebuild kit as you can get pistons in .010/.020/.030/.040 sizes. Being a 91 that should be the small bore engine so be careful on carb selections
