I have a 2002 4.2 v6 Mercruiser engine acting up

Starts and ticks over smooth as silk
Put her under load and she cuts out by about 2000 rpm. Then she wont start or does but runs dirty I need to leave her 10 to 15.mins before she fires and runs smooth again. She seems to be pushing plenty fuel through the primer pump.
