Honda BF90a gearbox input shaft seals

My Honda BF90a is fitted with the BF115 type waterpump. My gearbox input shaft seals are leaking and I removed them from the housing without noting which direction they were fitted. The manual isn't clear. Can anyone help with the correct orientation.

I wouldn't know a BF115 pump if it bit me, but if we're talking about the seals that go on the driveshaft, under the pump, the first one (towards the gear case) would install with the lip pointed down (to prevent pressure/fluid from escaping) and the second would be installed with the lip pointed up - to prevent water from getting in.
