Honda BF50 EFI lower unit temperature

Hello, last days i touched the middle section of my engine during operation time, the part that stays out of the water and i saw that it is very hot, almost you can't touch it with the hand. The part that stays in water is warm also but not so hot. I want to ask if it's normal or what is the normal temperature for operation of the midsection. I recently changed the gear oil and it was all fine, no water in it.

Good question. Never checked. I would think it will get pretty warm, since that is where the exhaust goes.

Not expecting to see one for a while...but I will try to remember to check when I do.

Hopefully, someone out there that has one, can tell you first hand....at least tell you if it is warm/hot to the touch.
