Honda b75 any good?

will the old honda 7.5 outboards generate power for a fish finder or do I need a separate battery for it?

Hi,
The B75 came with a "primary" coil to provide power to the spark ignition coil. There was an OPTION for a charging coil that worked with a silicon rectifier to provide power to charge a 12 volt battery. Both coils, when equipped, are under the flywheel.

The charging receptacle has a removable cover, two wire, two pronged, female plug that uses a two pin male adapter to deliver power to a battery.

If you're asking if the charging system would power a fish finder directly, without a battery, I don't know. The voltage is dependent on rpm so, at slow idle trolling speeds, you might encounter problems with trying that.
