This is a model year 1999 BF130. When the engine is first cranked on a cold start it emits a growling sound which will last a second or two until the engine starts. If the engine is tilted up slightly before turning the key on there is no growling sound. This is the case when starting on the lift with muffs on.
When the engine is in the water and the prop is submerged there is no growl that I can hear. This started just a few weeks ago. I suspect it will only get worse and needs attention. Thanks for any help on this.
