Help please water in oil AQ260 5.7

I would really appreciate some help and advice.
Just run the engine up after a few months out of the water
all temperatures fine, noticed a bit of a misfire and also water droplets coming out of the carb intake
Noticed white gunge on the oil filler cap
Further investigations I have found that number 2 cylinder inlet valve is stuck down, which explains the misfire, so I will have to take the head off to fix that
My question is would that inlet valve being stuck down be the reason water is being sucked into the engine?
Would appreciate help please
Thanks
Gordon

The only way water could come from the stuck valve is a cracked manifold and cracked or rotted manifolds happen all the time. It's the number one reason for dead engines in the boatworld. Might want to check the risers first.

Thanks for the information, that is very helpful
I will look for some new manifolds and risers
Have got the old ones off and they look very rusty inside, I will make a blanking plate and see where the leak is out of interest
Thanks again

I still dont understand how the water is getting in
I have tested the manifolds and risers under pressure and no leaks
Have inspected block and heads and all OK
The only thing I have found now the heads are off is a total of three valves stuck down and a bent push rod which I will have to replace
Any help or ideas or advice would be most welcome
