Help Mounting Transducer (Pic attached)

Hi,

I recently tested out my fish finder on the river the other day. I test mounted the transducer to the green and purple stars (shown in diagram. See attachment). When I went over 10mph I would lose my depth readings a lot. Otherwise it worked good in slow speeds.

I don't see anywhere else to place this except the orange star. This would be a few inches lower.

Do you think this would be okay or too close to the prop?

you got turbulence no matter where you mount it...especially on a small boat..mine does the same thing...

(1) Mount it in bilge with epoxy and let it shoot thru the hull (2) Mount it beside speedo pitot

make sure no bubbles in epoxy....
