I have a force 85 Bayliner. I have two problems can any one help? first my boat will only go in reverse when I put the control in reverse the engine revs real high and goes no where when I put the control in forward the boat goes in reverse. I tried every thing in adjustment but dont know. Second an alarm sounds from under the dash board when the engine runs for 4 or 5 minutes and this is a new problem does this mean water pump problem?

The alarm is an overheat buzzer.Running it on the hose might never get enough water to the pump.
Possible loose connection in shifter.Loose cable???
Check all the connections.From the dash back.Sounds like something came loose.J
