Gas/oil leaking through center of the prop, at times.

I was told to pump the gas bulb and if it leaked gas/oil through the center of the prop, the fuel pump is bad. Does this sound correct?

Model # of this motor ?-----If the bulb does not go hard you could have a ruptured diaphragm.-----Easy fix if you are interested in checking / fixing that simple pump.-----But some leakage out the exhaust can be normal after long periods of idling.-----How did the motor run for you last season ?

I bought it last month. my son did hear it run.I noticed some greasy looking stuff coming out of the prop sitting in the garage. if you check back I about 30 minutes I get that information and try pumping the bulb again. Thanks for responding. And yes sir I definitely want to fix it myself if at all possible

Ok the bulb doesn’t get hard.

Second thought, it has a regulator/pressure relief in line the fuel line. So I have to assume is it gets hard.

Install a new diaphragm in the fuel pump.
