dub question that probably nobody can definitively answer, but just for conversation....
What is the life expectancy of an aluminum fuel tank? I know of boats that are famous for tank failure due in part to installation design, i.e. starboard tanks on Bayliner 32's. I know of a couple boats that were much newer than mine, both 90's vintage that had failed tanks, one diesel one gas. And I know of people running ancient boats that don't even think about their fuel tanks. Mine are 1976, and due to installation placement, I am certain they are original. No evident leaks yet, but I wonder. Changing them out just for preventive would cost more than value of boat due to surgery that would be needed. How old are yours?
