Fuel pump help on a 1985 90hp inline 6

I was have trouble running the boat at full throttle it would bog down after 10 sec. If i squezze the ball it will rev back to full rpm.
I assume this means I need a new fuel pump?
I called a shop and they said there is a new and old style pump and that the old style is not available and they were not sure the new style would work??

Does anyone have any input on this as I am trying to get this boat running to sell.

If it has fuel filters check/change them before replacing the pump. Make sure there are no air leaks in the fuel line fittings.
 
Why rush out to buy a new pump ? --Look for the repair kit !------Remember that the pump is driven by crankcase pressure pulses.-----Have the bottom crankcase seals been checked / inspected ?
