Foreign or Domestic

Ayuh,.... That question is debatable,...
But,...
SEI drives cost 1/2 that of a new Merc drive,....

On the package / label it says-----" Assembled in the USA with imported and domestic parts "-----Having worked in a precision machine shop I understand the concept of matched gears / concentricity / run out / squareness of parts.-------Yes they are a lot less money and they require " break in " I believe.------For every day full throttle use ??------But I believe for the once a month user they are good value.

I sell SEI drives.
The question is "Are they equally reliable" the answer is no.

For example, I have reshimmed the uppers in their Alpha drives right out of the box...... Some have had the bearing stack replaced within a year.....

Are they worth the price? Yes they are. Good as an OE? no.

I have sold and installed a bunch of SEI lowers and I have to disagree. Only had problems with just a couple. The SEI Alpha shifts smoother than a OEM for some reason. Have several on commercial units and no problems with them at all.
