force 125 2 piece drive

When I pulled off the water pump and seal housing on this force 125 with the 2 piece drive the drive shaft had play in it is this normal ?? I can pull up on it and it tightens up. does the water pump impeller hold up on it when installed ?

Yes some play is normal.
