Flywheel

I was attempting to change my stator today on my 1985 Mercury 35hp 2 stroke. I noticed that the flywhell could be removed without using a puller but did not realize that by doing this I would mess up the balance of the flywhell. Is there a way I can reinstall the flywheel assuring that the balance is correct. I didnt realize but I should have marked everything as I removed it?

See if there are paint marks / rust stains that will help.-----Or put #1 at TDC and use timing mark.

Thank You I checked for noticeable marks but had no luck. I put top
cyl at TDC and then put flywheel on lining up at about 4 or 5 degrees past TDC?

Hello racerone when I put the top cylinder at TDC where should the stationary pointer attached to motor block be pointing at on the flywheel? Should it be at the TDC position or at a certain degree mark?
