firing problem

i have a 1983 90 hp motor model #e90tlcte that is a magneto based fire. i have excellent turning power but no fire. is there a way i can test the magneto? all grounds are good. i have the spark plugs gauged at a .35. idk if thats too big or not? thank you for any help ahead of time.

Your spark plug gap explanation is not very clear !----------------A good magneto on those will fire a gap of 7/16" or more.-------------------Search on this site there are many posts on the subject.
