Evinrude 60hp 1992

Had problems with low compression. Removed head, some quite bad scoring to 2 cylinders. Plus the head is black on one side (see photos) anyone know what might cause this? Trying to decide if it's worth doing a rebore or whether to just scrap it. Thanks.

Typical for #2 to fail first.-----Most folks simply are not aware that motors need a new impeller about every 5 years.----Does the tell tale fitting come off the side of the block or the top?------I would rebuild that motor , have all the parts on hand here.
