Hello,
I would like to ask about my 1998 Evinrude 200 tilt trim system.
When I last trailered the boat about 3 weeks ago I left the motor trimmed all the way down. The tilt was working normally then. I returned this week to find it all the way up. Nothing else was wrong or disturbed, so I’m not sure anyone did this intentionally, but I also don’t know if it can happen accidentally due to a short or something.
Neither the cowling nor the throttle mounted tilt switches get any response - no clicks, nothing. The battery is charged 100% and was tested as good. All the other electrical systems seem to be fine and the motor will crank. I was able to lower the motor with the manual release.
I would like to know of there is a separate fuse or breaker normally associated with the tilt system, or if the relays might have both gone out at the same time - I didn’t have time yet to pull them.
