Engine Compatibilty

Hey,

I inherited a 1990 Four Winns 180 Horizon with a 4.3 OMC and a cracked block. I found a 4.3 engine out of a 1986 Chris Craft but have not purchased it and am wondering what I need to find out to know if the two engines are interchangeable. Where this info may be located on the engine and where I need to go to find out what the numbers mean.

Park your boat under a big tree and set up a chain fall, or find a friend with a backhoe, or buy a friend with a back hoe...
