Emulsion jet on solex 44 pai query

I have a Aq130c with twin Solex 44PA1 carbs. I started doing a carb rebuild/clean because I cannot get a nice/smooth/reliable idle. I removed the emulsion jets. On the top they are stamped 210 E5. But according to the workshop manual they should be 190 E5 emulsion jets.
Can anyone explain what the emulsion jet does and should I replace the 210 E5 with the 190 E5? (plus what is the difference?)

The 210 E5 have 5 holes if that helps..

thanks

Basically, the emulsion jet meters air. The more air (bigger jet) the leaner the system becomes.

This link should help you to understand how it works, although the carb is different than yours.

And these links will guide you through the rebuilding process.

If you cannot get a smooth idle and you have points and condenser in the distributor, upgrading to electronic ignition (Pertronix or HotSpark) will often fix the problem.
