I´m troubleshooting the electronics on BY3-180, unlimited package, with propshaft and gearcase, I´m not getting much help from Yanmar Sweden, so I try my luck here.
I have not yet found the time to look into the service handbook.
System shows 2 (and even 3) fault codes:
P0650: MIL, "check engine-light malfunc" the light itself is working.
U0001, High speed controller area network communication bus
and occasionally:
UC001 manufacturer specific powertrain code, does not exist in my dtc sheet...
the engine starts up fine, but sounds the warning horn after a short while,
It gets really exciting when I try shifting, going from neutral to reverse, the boat shifts into forward and revs up hard, maybe even full throttle, the same but opposite thing happens when shifting to forward.
On throttle only, the engine instantly hits full speed , before the shift lever even reaches forward detent.
The customer has been able to handle the boat on some rare occasions, so the problem is perhaps not entirely persistent.
I can clear the fault codes, but as soon ast I turn the system on again, they are back, disconnecting the batteries made no difference.
Anyone out there with similar experiences?
