early 90s 40 hp Mercury fuel connector

The fuel line connector on my Merc motor is made of plastic and the gas feed nipple has broken off several times.
Who has a connector with a metal feed nipple that can replace the plastic one? I boat on the Miss and get worried about getting stranded.
