Take off EH! That's a Canadian built Merc.

Records are a little sketchy from the Mississauga plant, which closed quite a few years back, but I'm fairly sure that's a 1988 model (maybe an early 89 model but the production run was mechanically identical from mid 1985 until mid 1994 so makes little difference of the exact year from a "parts" point of view).

In fact, the serials are actually just "production numbers" with no information encoded - no year, no horsepower, no nothing - just a 1 up number off the production line. So if your particular motor sat at a dealer until 1991 it could have been sold as a brand new 1991 model. The only time you saw "non-current" 2 stroke Merc's in a showroom was when they changed the line.

You will have no end of trouble trying to look up parts on line with that serial but you can use the equivalent US serial (production) number 0B238464 which is 100% identical mechanically.
