Trying to help trouble shoot my neighbors 1989 DT65. Previously it was getting a water alarm. We performed an engine descaling flush, as it has a new water pump and the alarm went away. We were just on a Canadian fishing trip and the engine started sounding the alarm at low idle ONLY. It became more frequent as the days went on, but only at low idle. The engine tell tale is strong even at low idle. So I am leaning towards we have a wiring issue, like a loose connection or possibly it is one of these two sensors circled below. Water temp doesn't feel abnormal on the tell tale, so I am not sure which of these two sensors could be causing that. Next step I guess would be to pull these sensors to see if there is build up on them or not. Does anyone know which of these two would be the sensor for low idle or does that even matter?
