dt 65 Suzuki

hi, my dt 65 Suzuki 2002 gear shaft has come out of place while taking the lower unit off i have now had to take the propellor, bearings, and gears out the bottom of the lower unit to see the gear shaft and there was a steel ball and a spring ring loose in the bottom its a push/pull system but i still cannot figure out how to reconnect the rod, does anyone have any ideas any help would be very appreciated as there's very little information on the internet about this?

I would suggest you get yourself a genuine Suzuki service manual. Suzuki stopped offering 2 strokes in the USA around 1999, they did and still do produce 2 strokes but not for the North American market so you may have to search overseas for a service manual.

The above link covers DT65 1992-1999, depending on how much Suzuki changed the lower unit from 1999 to 2002 you MIGHT get lucky and the service manual linked above might work for you. I just don’t know. Good luck with your search.
