My boat is a 2000 Chaparral with 2 VP 5.7 GSIPEFS engines and Douprop drives.
I noticed that the starboard drive oil level is low and that the oil is black and smells burned.
How does the oil get black inside the drive ?
I want to drain and flush and refill both drives.
What grade of oil should I use ? I have not done an oil change on it before. I only just bought he boat.
The oil in them is thin like engine oil.
Where do I drain the drives from and where do I fill them from ? (have read somewhere about filling also from the bottom)
