Covert electric start J30TECCE to rope

Both starter bolt locations are stripped out on my starter. And can’t get the bendix to engage the fly wheel. I’m looking at buying a J30RLCUB for parts. I would like to take the rewind off this motor and install it on mine. Will it work?

An 88 and 87 motor are essentially the same.-----So I would say yes it will work.

Thanks racer. It looks like the rewind just bolts onto the top of the motor in 3 spots. Or is it harder than that? I shouldn’t have to remove the flywheel or anything like that should I?

You might need a taller cowling with a hole for the handle.

Ya the J30RLCUB I want to buy for parts has the taller cowl.
