Coil question ?

Well the Sears I’m working on has a coil that seems to Mount & slide off the center square piece.
So can I only replace the coil or do I need both ?
 
Size the photo down to 1mb or less, then use Go Advanced. Click on a little squarish icon that will bring a frame to select then upload the file.
Did you call those guys I linked in your other post? They know everything about that motor.
 
217-59860 is a 1968 motor made by Eska. Likely has a Repco magneto but I can't say for sure. Likely has a replaceable coil. Do you have a local lawn mower shop that has been around forever? That is just a Techumseh lawn mower engine adapted to an outboard lower unit.

The website is pretty basic. They list a phone #, pick up the phone & call them. A few folks here have those motors, & these guys will have your part & know all about it.
I have one of those a 5.5, my dad bought new, in ‘71.
As FD said, they are lawn mower engines.
