Choke Adjustment Fixed Problem

My friend recently purchased a new jon boat with 10 HP 4-stroke Merc with rope start. He started complaining it was taking 25 to 35 pulls of the rope to get the motor started. Once started it ran perfectly. And as long as it was warmed up it would start with just 2 to 4 rope pulls. He didn't want to take it back to the dealer because his ex-girl friend worked there. So he asked me to troubleshoot. I squirted some gas into the carb and the motor started on the first pull and ran great. So I suspected the motor was gas starved. Examining the choke linkage I noticed the set screw on the choke linkage wasn't screwed in far enough to slightly open the throttle when the choke was set. I turned the screw in about 1/8" and tightened the lock nut. I told him to wait until the next morning when the temperature was cold and try to start the motor. He called the next morning, said the temp was 34 degrees, and the motor started on the first pull of the rope.
