changing the washers on the hollow screws

I bought new washers to put on to the hollow screws that attach the fuel line to the carbs. I haven't been able to get to replace them because of work, but I dont remember the screws/bolts coming off the fuel line. Is there a special way to take them off or do the slide out? (Aq130c/ duel solex downdraft carbs)

The old aluminum washers are probably expanded, and that may prevent the banjo bolts from sliding out easily. So you may need to use some gentle persuasion. You can try either tapping the bolts gently with a plastic hammer, or just try to unscrew them with a wrench while putting some pressure on the threaded side; or, with the bolt partly unscrewed, tap on the pipe with a plastic hammer. Got the idea?

One thing I have done over the years is tighten the banjo bolts down very little at first. If they drip go little more, see if they drip, then a little more, you get the idea. Those aluminum washers scrunch real easy and all you need out of them is a drip-free connection.
