Changing ignition systems???

[FONT=&quot]Working on a 1994 25hp Mercury.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Somewhere along the line I got some info that there might be an ignition change from the old[/FONT]

Trigger is the same I believe the difference is the timing advance. One has a mechanical advance and one does not. The one that doesn't has the timing curve in the switch box and the stator is staked in place.
 
Mine's the stator and trigger are locked in place.
