Carb problem J25TEEDA

The 1996 25hp engine on my 14’ fishing boat has a fuel problem. Excess fuel has been coming out of the carb. When I squeeze the gas tank primer bulb, fuel comes out of the mesh covered port near the primer inlet port at th top of the carburetor. I’ve taken the carb apart and everything seems normal except for the emulsion tube that runs from the float bowl into the Venturi area. The large tube looks ok but the shaft that runs up inside the emulsion tube is not in the center. Could this be the source of my problem? Wish I could post a picture.

It is not supposed to be in the center !!-----Replace float and float valve.

Thanks. I’m glad I didn’t try to centre it. I did put in a new float and valve. If I can get it all back tomorrow I’ll test it.

For those that are wondering, here is a picture of the emulsion tube with an off center tube running up the middle of it.
