Carb nozzle well gasket

Recently rebuilt my 1990 60hp and to date it starts right up and runs
fair.
Now I'm trouble shooting to get it to run perfect. My carbs did NOT
have NOZZLE WELL GASKETS when I was cleaning them. Also
my carbs do NOT have a slow speed adjusting screw even though
the PARTS list show a nozzle well gasket AND a slow speed
screw.
I do NOT know the history of this motor.
Is there ANY situation where my carburetors would NOT have
a nozzle well gasket?
There is a tag on the carb:
395579A
70 m x
16 h j

TJ60TLESM

Marine engine does not show my carb parts list diagram.
Any ideas on what's going on?

I think someone put a different ( 70 HP ? ) carburetor on your motor.----You will find that carburetor listed for a 1985 model 70 HP.---It must have that wee nozzle gasket !

That's what I was thinking as well.
So, without that gasket YOU think the motor would run a little
rough??
With the gasket the motor would run better???

Also, the 1985 70hp does not look like mine but the
1986 thru 1989 70hp parts list does look like mine
so who knows WHY the previous owners changed
the carbs.
Thanks

I can confirm.
IT HAS TO HAVE THOSE GASKETS.
Motor runs perfect now. Also I just ordered 3 new carb
rebuild kits so it should run even better.
