Cannot Loosen Ring Nut

I need to remove my propeller shaft, but I cannot get the ring nut to budge. I have beat the %$^@#$%^ out of it with a 5 lb hammer and chisel. This is after letting some penetrating lubricant soak in.

Any suggestions on how to get this loose?

hi... just behind the ring nut a plate is installed and the plate has three notch plate did you remove that still if you can then make holes on the ring nuts
but be careful do not damage threads, then try to loosen the nut.
 
Not sure of what you mean. There is a claw washer behind the ring nut. I have bent the tabs on the washer so the ring nut can come off.

Are you saying I can drill holes in the nut and remove it by destroying it?

if you can not afford to change the ring nut , you should use proper tools to open it. ring spanner not hammer and chisel. so there is other way to open it
just make it hot and try to remove it by ring spanner which is a special tools for gear box. I don`t how much is the ring nut in your place but in UAE quite cheap.
