Hey guys,
Ever hear, "don't fix it if it ain't broke"?
Well, I started tinkering with my prop, changing out a hub, and it got me thinking about my RPM's.
I have a 16' x 54" aluminum jon boat set up for fishing. A 25HP Mercury, pull start motor. No electric start.
A long time ago I wanted to make the boat faster so I bought a SS prop. #48-19644 13P
Pretty sure it's 103/8" diameter and a 13" pitch. I did pick up speed but the motor doesn't sound like it's reaching the RPM's at WOT that it should.
Like, maybe it's a bit too much prop?
Anyway, now I'd like to find a way to check my RPM's.
Is there a way to at least temporarily install a tach to check my RPM ?
