Can I lift boat by ski pole?

Hi, can an inboard be lifted with a crane by the ski pole? It is a 1960s Ski Nautique with Chrysler 383m. Seems to be a strong lifting point, or will the rest of the boat tear away from the stringers?

Boats are intended to be lifted by wide straps passing under the hull.

Well, given how often folks ignore our advice, I'd suggest if they do lift by the ski tow pole that they video tape it for the internet... They're always looking for "funny" clips... Or for the Stupid Science show... " The ski tow pylon, intended to withstand a lateral ( horizontal) pull of under 500 lbs, failed dramatically when subjected to a vertical pull of 4000 lbs!!!"
