Cam change. Anyone with experience? Thoughts? 1988 5.7

Anyone have any experience with installing different cams for more performance in GM SBC?

Also, any info that my engine has roller lifters?

The valve covers have the four center mounting bolts.

Have Dennis Moores' "Chevy small block performance" book in hand, on Intra-Library loan.

They are hard to get a hold of...........

Unless a PO had changed to a later engine, the 1988 typically will not use the roller cam followers.
Dennis Moore's book should offer you some info on camshaft profile selections for marine use.
