Hi guys....
I recently obtained a very well maintained lund with a 2005 Yamaha 25hp outboard (25esh 6l2k). The previous owner mentioned having put a few gallons of gas in the portable tank so we could briefly fire it up for a test drive....which we did. Motor started and ran great.......BUT....I'm pretty sure he just put regular ethanol containing gas into the tank. My buddy and I are going to do a DYI winterization in a about a week but my question is:
Did we cause damage to the motor by running non rec gas for the test drive, and will that non rec gas sitting in the motor for the week before we get around to winterizing it cause any damage?
